The Science Club from McMichael Middle School participated in the East Texas Regional Science Fair held in Kilgore on March 5th. There were about 200 projects in the Junior Division and Senior Division.
In the Physics category, Duncan Farrish won a second place trophy for his project titled, Eco-Friendly Bridges. He is eligible to compete at the Texas State Science Fair sponsored by ExxonMobil in San Antonio, Texas. His project involved the testing of polysynthetic wood verses natural wood with a force apparatus measuring strength and durability. This will be a two year research and experimental study through the scientific method.
He also received two certificates from NASA for engineering recognition and the military.
